Recently I went to see Sherlock Holmes. While the movie had some sex and nudity and very mild profanity, it was extremely gory and violent. We were shocked to see kids under the age of 13 attending. And although it was PG-!3, I would say that some parents really need to do a little more research before bringing their kids to a movie. A great place is www.kids-in-mind.com which I found very useful in rating in 3 categories “sex and nudity”, “profanity” and “gore and violence”. No Wondering in New Jersey
Miley Cyrus, Wonder World Tour
Tween/Teen+ Superstar Miley Cyrus comes and rocks out in the New Jersey Prudential Center bringing everyone from 4 years old to 50 + to their feet. Kids, Teens, moms, dads and even grandparents rose to their feet for Party in the USA and more.
I grew up going to concerts like Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, Heart and Pearl Jam to name a few. So when I took my daughter to her first concert at the ripe old age of eight, the talent of Miley and her crew pleasantly surprised me. I was not only thoroughly entertained by the special effects and dancing but it was great time to bond with my daughter.
It is definitely a sign of the times that girls are growing up faster (given that my first rock concert was at seventeen). And Miley is no exception! In her daring skimpy little outfits prancing around the stage, I cringe at the thought that next week my daughter will be asking to dress like that. Nonetheless, the talent on the stage was superb, and her voice was that of an angel.
With tons of screaming fans she claimed New Jersey was the loudest, as we all enjoyed singing along. The 90-minute show opened with “Breakout,” and it continued with non-stop action and energy. The visuals were electric from large screens displaying the ocean, a frog catching a fly, to Miley on a motorcycle dangling from the sky. In addition, fans experienced a preview of Cyrus’ forthcoming film, “The Last Song.”
A great night I think experienced by all. Her 19-song set list was mostly Miley but she didn’t forget her roots, and leave Hannah behind. As Hannah was the reason why most of these little girls became her fan in the first place, including my own. For more on concerts and presale passwords try www.going2theshow.com

Don’t let your kids wonder
Babies, toddlers and even older kids love routine, they like to know what is going to happen next. Follow this advice for a nice evening –
- When you pick them up from school set their expectations for the evening including what’s for dinner, bath, activity, etc.
- Try to have the same routine every night. Right before bed, have a special book, song or TV show that helps wind them down.
- When you put your child in crib/bed have a special saying that you do every night. (i.e. good night, sweet dreams)
When away – Try your best to keep bedtime and much of the routine as possible. Try not to co-sleep with your child. This will create problems when you arrive home. If in a hotel room, ask to get cribs, pull-out couches or rollaway beds when possible.
